Spam and Fishing messages

False messages are being sent in the name of Pastor Kris.  

These look like messages claiming to be Pastor Kris, or potentially other staff, but are not from our actual phone numbers or email address’. They are often claiming the sender is in a meeting, they urgently ask for assistance.

Our church has a team to support urgent work. When your assistance is desired, there will be time to process what to do.

Things you can do if you receive a message you are not sure about:

• If you are unsure what to do, it is always a good idea to talk it through with somebody else.
• You could call the church office directly to talk about the message.
• You should never respond directly to the unknown sender.
• Verify our contact information in the church directory.
• You can make sure you save our contact information in your phone, so you know who is calling or texting.
• Check the email address when receiving emails. Our staff emails come from _(our name)_ @lindenmb.org.  They should include our customary signatures.  If you’ve received emails from us before, you can check what this looks like.
• You can report these messages. Right at the bottom of texts and emails there is usually a link to report. Do so.
